Club Bulletin 2024-25 #15

On Monday 30th September, our club heard from Lisa Woolfe-Jones, Chief Xperience Officer with “Kids with Cancer Foundation”.

The Vision of Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) is to create “A world where a child’s cancer diagnosis becomes an unremarkable event in life”.

Their Mission is “To improve the daily lives of kids with cancer and their families” through 5 charitable programs, including: Providing direct Financial Assistance to families with a child receiving treatment for cancer; Funding of 21 vital clinical positions in 6 paediatric oncology units across Australia; Paying for donated hair to be made into wigs for children who have lost their hair, to give them confidence and reassurance; Providing Care Packs 4 Kids – to provide comfort and relief to children in hospital, receiving treatment or long stays waiting appointments; and, Funding of Cancer Research – including a world-first Relapsed Ependymona (brain cancer) Trial, testing a cutting-edge, new technology.
