Pride of Workmanship & Community Service Awards

Rotary is about making a difference. Every year The Rotary Club of the Hills – Kellyville seeks to recognise members of the local community for their special work that contributes to communities – in the Hills district or further afield via two categories of awards: Pride of Workmanship and Community Service.

An Awards Night is held around May each year to present these special awards and recognition with dignitaries representing Rotary District 9685, The Hills Shire Council as well as State and Federal Members of Parliament in most years.

The Pride of Workmanship Award was developed by the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills about 30 years ago with the aim of fostering an awareness of the importance of taking pride in one’s work. Many Rotary Clubs include this award in their annual program. A slogan often associated with the award is:

“Do it once, do it well”. The award provides an opportunity for employers and customers to recognise the special contribution made by outstanding individuals in the workplace, and to thank those who have taken the opportunity to support this program.

Community service awards are presented to individuals or organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community. This award allows Rotary to recognise these persons or organisations by presenting this award as a thank you for their service.
